Bitcoin ETF Outflows Swamp $385M as Price Stagnates Near $63K
Bitcoin ETFs suffered significant outflows in the latest week, totaling $385.2 million through August 14. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund led the decline with $153.1 million in net redemptions.
The outflows reversed earlier inflows of $865.3 million during the first five trading sessions of August. This change may indicate institutional risk reduction rather than a shift in demand, according to The Martini Guy's analysis.
Bitcoin's price remained range-bound near $63,500 as spot activity weakened. The cryptocurrency traded near this level on August 17 with daily volumes around $12.3 billion.
The weekly redemptions followed strong inflows earlier in August, with several major funds attracting significant capital between August 3 and 7. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund recorded the highest inflows during this period, with $244.4 million on August 5 alone.
