Bitcoin ETF Reverses Trend Amid Altcoin Frenzy
The U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETF has reversed its trend from inflows to outflows, recording $201.81 million in outflows on August 28th after nine consecutive days of inflows worth a total of $3.04 billion.
This change is not surprising given the recent drop in Bitcoin's price action from $80K to $78,275.24 at press time. However, other altcoin ETFs did not follow this pattern and continued to record inflows.
Ethereum ETFs maintained their inflow streak with $102.18 million worth of inflows on August 28th, while XRP ETFs recorded inflows worth $26.20 million, Solana ETFs saw $18.08 million in inflows, and HYPE ETFs had $4.48 million in inflows.
The altcoin season index is currently sitting at 30, indicating a 'Bitcoin Season', but this has not stopped investors from shifting towards altcoins before the September effect kicks in. In fact, Bitcoin's September weakness, which was notable from 2017 to 2022, started fading away with positive September closes in 2023 and 2024.
