Bitcoin ETF Selloff Pauses as Harvard and Abu Dhabi Funds Hold Steady
Harvard University's endowment has put its Bitcoin ETF selloff on hold for now, according to a recent 13F filing. The university held steady at 3,044,612 shares of BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust worth $101.4 million in the second quarter of 2026.
This represents a pause in what had been a sharp retreat from the asset class. Harvard's position in the ETF lost around $15.6 million in value during the quarter due to market depreciation, but this decline was driven solely by the drop in the fund's market price rather than additional divestment.
Other institutional investors also kept their Bitcoin ETF stakes intact. Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council each maintained their positions, while Dartmouth College reported no changes to its crypto holdings.
JPMorgan increased its position in the Bitcoin ETF by 25%, while Tudor Investment Corporation added shares to bring its total to 688,529. Morgan Stanley trimmed its stake by 4.5% but also disclosed holdings in a proprietary Bitcoin fund.
