Bitcoin ETFs Bleed $131 Million as Ether and Solana Products See Modest Inflows
On August 13, US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw a net outflow of $131.1 million, more than doubling the previous session's $61.1 million withdrawal and bringing two-day redemptions to around $192 million. In contrast, spot ether products took in roughly $6.7 million and Solana funds about $3.6 million.
The data compiled from Farside Investors and SoSoValue shows that the Bitcoin selling was broad but not uniform. ARK 21Shares' ARKB led redemptions at $58.8 million, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $55.1 million and Grayscale's GBTC at $36.3 million.
However, two products within Grayscale's complex saw the opposite trend: its lower-fee Bitcoin Mini Trust took in $38.9 million, while Morgan Stanley's MSBT added $7.1 million. This split is a fee-and-structure story as much as a Bitcoin one, suggesting institutions that still want BTC exposure are not all leaving the asset; some are simply choosing more affordable share classes.
Ether and Solana continued to attract inflows, with Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust accounting for most of the ether inflow at $6.47 million, Morgan Stanley's MSSE adding about $811,000, and BlackRock's ETHA seeing a small outflow of $569,000.
