Bitcoin ETFs Draw Record $517M Inflows Amid Treasury and SEC Policy Announcements
Bitcoin ETFs saw significant inflows on August 19, with a total of $517.19 million in net inflows, the largest single-day total since May 4.
The influx was driven by two policy announcements: the US Treasury Department's decision to at least double its liquidity support buyback operations and the Securities and Exchange Commission's proposal for two exemptions for certain crypto investment contracts.
BlackRock's IBIT led with $284.7 million in inflows, followed by Ark and 21Shares' ARKB at $77.7 million, and Fidelity's FBTC at $62.4 million.
Crypto analysts attributed the influx to institutional allocators rather than short-term retail activity, with one analyst stating that this size of inflow is unlikely to continue.
