Bitcoin ETFs Draw Record $800M Despite Security Fears
Bitcoin security concerns dominated headlines last week following a firmware exploit affecting certain Coldcard hardware wallets. Despite this, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted nearly $800 million in net inflows over the same seven trading days, according to the Bitcoin For Corporations ETF Dashboard.
The data shows that more than $1 billion entered the funds while $212.7 million exited, resulting in one of the strongest weekly periods in recent months. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for the majority of inflows, attracting $757.5 million in rolling net inflows and extending its streak to four consecutive inflow days.
While ETF flows can't tell us why investors bought Bitcoin, they do show where money moved. The numbers suggest that institutional demand remained intact during a week when security headlines were prominent. This trend is significant as it indicates that regulated investment products continue to attract capital despite the risks associated with self-custody.
