Bitcoin ETFs See Brief Pause in Inflows as Investors Take Profit
US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a brief pause in inflows after weeks of net additions. The products have attracted around $55.45 billion in cumulative net inflows since their launch in early 2024, with total assets under management now sitting at approximately $99.3 billion.
The two-day period from September 8 to 9 saw investors pull roughly $166.8 million out of the funds. This represents around 0.17% of the total assets held in US spot Bitcoin ETFs. The selling accelerated sharply on the second day, with net outflows increasing to nearly triple that of the previous day.
Ark 21Shares' ARKB was the biggest culprit, shedding approximately $78 million on September 9 alone. Grayscale's GBTC added another $27.2 million to the exit pile, while BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $19.5 million in outflows.
Morgan Stanley's MSBT bucked the trend, pulling in $4.5 million across the two-day stretch. Grayscale's continued outflows are seen as a more structural story, with the fund having been bleeding assets since its conversion from a trust structure. This process has been ongoing for over two years now.
