Bitcoin ETFs See Massive Outflows Amid Unfavorable Market Conditions
The Bitcoin ETFs have experienced significant outflows over the past week, totaling $463 million in just four sessions. The largest withdrawal was on Thursday, September 10, with a net loss of $282.56 million. This decline is particularly notable given that Bitcoin ETFs had seen three consecutive weeks of inflows prior to this week.
On Tuesday, the withdrawals began with $46.65 million, followed by $120.24 million on Wednesday and $282.56 million on Thursday. The pace slowed down on Friday, but still saw a net loss of $13.29 million. The funds that contributed most to these outflows were ARKB from Ark Invest and 21Shares, which lost $234.2 million combined.
Despite this decline, Bitcoin ETFs have retained nearly $307.3 million in net inflows since the beginning of September. This suggests that while there may be short-term demand interruptions, the accumulated gathering over the month remains intact. In contrast, Ether ETFs saw a positive week, with $197.11 million in inflows.
The Federal Reserve's monetary decision on September 16 and the potential vote on the CLARITY Act could influence flow trajectories in upcoming sessions. The current market climate is unfavorable for risky assets, with rising oil prices fueling concerns about inflation. This environment may contribute to further outflows from Bitcoin ETFs or even a reversal in their trend.
