Bitcoin ETFs Smash $100 Billion Barrier Amidst Late-August Rally
The crypto market saw significant institutional investment on Thursday, pushing Bitcoin ETFs past the $100 billion asset mark. The late-August rally continued to attract fresh capital, with Bitcoin and Ether ETFs drawing in a combined total of $476.75 million.
Blackrock's IBIT fund led the charge for Bitcoin ETFs, attracting $277.61 million. Other notable inflows included ARK 21Shares' ARKB, which added $29.75 million, and Bitwise's BITB, which brought in $21.74 million.
While some funds experienced sizeable withdrawals, including Fidelity's FBTC and Grayscale's GBTC, the overall trend remained firmly bullish. Trading value reached a significant $3.45 billion, with combined net assets crossing the $100 billion threshold at $100.93 billion.
Solana ETFs also saw strong demand, adding $60.91 million to their total assets, which now stand at $1.49 billion. This represents approximately 2.33% of the token's market capitalization. HYPE ETFs attracted $24.42 million, with Bitwise's BHYP accounting for $23.22 million.
According to Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley, 'investors are adding exposure to crypto,' which was reflected in Thursday's numbers. Capital continued to flow heavily into Bitcoin and Ether, while increasingly meaningful allocations reached solana, HYPE, and XRP.
