Bitcoin ETFs Soar as Bitcoin Surpasses $80,000 Mark
Cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are on the rise. The Harvest Bitcoin ETF (03439) has gained nearly 5%, reaching HK$9.865, while the ChinaAMC Bitcoin ETF (03042) has risen over 4% to HK$9.815.
The surge in cryptocurrency ETFs comes as Bitcoin itself breaks new ground. With a price of over $80,000, up more than 4% in the past 24 hours, Bitcoin has reached its highest point since May. Market analysts attribute this increase to several factors, including increased liquidity from U.S. Treasury repurchase agreements and improved regulatory expectations.
A key development driving these market movements is the potential for the U.S. Treasury to utilize its Treasury General Account (TGA) to provide funding support for an expanded Treasury repurchase program. If implemented, this measure could significantly alter perceptions regarding the U.S. Treasury's ability to intervene in long-end interest rates.
