Bitcoin ETFs Still Down $1 Billion, But Recent Inflows Bring Hope
US spot Bitcoin ETFs have been struggling to break even in 2026, but recent inflows have helped claw back some of the losses. The $1 billion gap between investor outflows and inflows is a significant milestone for these funds.
In June 2026, net redemptions from US spot Bitcoin ETFs hit $4.5 billion, contributing to the cumulative damage. May was also a challenging month, with heavy outflows adding to the losses.
However, August saw a major turnaround, with net inflows of $3.52 billion pouring into spot Bitcoin ETFs. This made it the strongest monthly performance of 2026 by a wide margin.
The momentum carried over into September, with a three-week inflow streak delivering approximately $3.8 billion in fresh capital. The week ending September 5 alone saw net inflows of $986.9 million, pushing the year-to-date deficit down to roughly $1 billion.
