Bitcoin ETFs Suffer Biggest Weekly Outflows Since June Amid Investor Caution
The 13 spot Bitcoin ETFs suffered significant outflows in the week ended August 10, reversing the strong inflows seen at the beginning of August. The combined net withdrawals totaled $389.7 million, a stark contrast to the previous week's $853.5 million of inflows.
This marks the biggest weekly outflow since June, and comes as Bitcoin trades around $63,000, roughly 50% below its record high reached in October last year. Concerns over higher interest rates and limited progress on regulatory frameworks have weighed on investor sentiment.
The ETFs provide investors with exposure to Bitcoin's price movements without requiring them to directly purchase or store the cryptocurrency. A recent security incident involving Coldcard-branded offline wallets has also influenced sentiment around crypto custody, making some keys predictable and raising concerns about hardware wallet security.
