Bitcoin ETFs Thrive in August, But September Sees Reversal
US-listed Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their best month of 2026 in August, as BTC gained a significant 25% during this period.
The total net assets of these ETFs rose to $99.61 billion at the end of August from $76.29 billion at the end of July, representing an increase of about 31%. The monthly trading volume also climbed nearly 49% to $58.63 billion from $39.37 billion.
The August surge in Bitcoin's value and ETF inflows was a stark contrast to the start of September, which saw a reversal with net outflows of $236 million on Tuesday. This marked the largest daily outflow since July 31, when the funds shed $265.37 million.
