Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs Soar $23 Billion in One Week
The past week saw a significant surge in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, with $23 billion added to their total assets under management. The growth was largely driven by price appreciation, rather than new investments.
Bitcoin ETF assets rose 25.4% to $96.1 billion, while Ethereum ETF assets jumped 35.9% to $14.3 billion. This increase in value came despite only $2.6 billion of the total growth being attributed to new money.
The price surge can be attributed to several factors, including the U.S. Treasury doubling its long-bond buyback program and a short squeeze that wiped out billions in bearish bets on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin's price rose from around $62,000 to briefly above $79,000, a 24% weekly gain, while Ethereum climbed from under $1,900 to above $2,500, up about 30%. The rally has not erased the damage of 2026, with Bitcoin ETFs still down in net outflows for the year.
