Bitcoin Faces Crucial Resistance at $80,000 Amid Strong Institutional Demand
Bitcoin has rallied significantly in recent weeks but is now facing major resistance as it approaches $80,000. Despite trading near $77,232, BTC price still needs to reclaim its 50-week exponential moving average (EMA) as support to strengthen the case for further upside.
Rekt Capital, a crypto investor and analyst, said that Bitcoin has rallied into its 50-week EMA, which is currently acting as resistance. This level has historically acted differently across bullish and bearish market phases, according to his analysis.
The analyst also identified the 21-week EMA as another level that has not yet been technically reclaimed. A weekly close above the 21-week EMA would mark only the first part of that confirmation process, with BTC then needing to retest the level successfully and hold it as support.
