Bitcoin Faces High-Volatility News Cycle
Kraken analysts are warning of a critical 48-hour period for Bitcoin, set against a backdrop of significant news events. On Wednesday, July 29, the Federal Reserve is due to announce its latest interest-rate decision at 2 pm ET, followed by a press conference 30 minutes later.
No new rate projections or dot plot are scheduled, so traders will focus on the wording of the statement and comments from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh. Markets may need to 'reconcile conflicting signals quickly rather than settle into one narrative', as Kraken put it.
The next day, the U.S. government will release its first estimate of Q2 economic growth alongside June personal consumption expenditures data. This adds to the complexity of market signals that traders must navigate.
On Thursday, Coinbase and Strategy will publish their Q2 results after U.S. markets close. Coinbase's report will provide insight into crypto trading activity, while Strategy's results will shed light on its finances behind 843,775 BTC holdings, valued at around $62,630 per coin.
