Bitcoin Faces Long-Term Holder Resistance at $83,000
Bitcoin's push to reclaim $80,000 is encountering resistance from overhead liquidity and long-term holder supply. According to on-chain research by Glassnode, a dense band of long-term holders who bought through a prior drawdown could face an incentive to sell near breakeven around the $83,000 mark.
Glassnode's analysis emphasizes that this region holds 'effectively all' long-term holder supply that survived the previous drawdown. The presence of re-laddered asks on exchange order books in the same area may further limit upside momentum.
The Week Onchain report by Glassnode highlights multiple pools of BTC that could be released back into the market if Bitcoin rises toward $86,000. This includes long-term holder supply, coins held without selling for at least six months.
