Bitcoin Faces Resistance as Whales Dump Coins Amid Technical Uncertainty
Bitcoin's price stability has been a subject of interest among analysts and traders as it continues to hover around $65,000. Despite reaching a two-week high near $65,393 overnight, the broader technical structure remains unresolved. Several analysts have identified lower highs and resistance above current levels, while large Bitcoin holders and some corporate treasury companies reduce their exposure.
According to Crypto Patel, a bullish outlook on Bitcoin will only materialize if a higher timeframe candle closes above $72,300. Until that level is decisively reclaimed, his bearish thesis remains intact with a downside target below $50,000. This view is supported by Rekt Capital's analysis of the Bitcoin price chart, which shows the formation of lower highs compared to its July upside wick.
On the other hand, Ardi highlights a recurring symmetry in Bitcoin's market cycles, where pullbacks become progressively deeper as the previous bull market matures. He believes that such a move could set the stage for the next big rally. Meanwhile, Lookonchain reported that a whale sold another 1,019 Bitcoins worth nearly $66.4 million, bringing their total sales over the past three weeks to 7,513 BTC valued at approximately $486.9 million.
Empery Digital has also offloaded some of its Bitcoin holdings, selling 1,635 BTC for around $102.2 million between July 1 and August 6. This sale reduced their total Bitcoin holdings to 1,279 BTC, with 954 BTC pledged against $35 million in debt.
