Bitcoin Faces Uphill Battle to Reclaim $87,500 by Year's End
Bitcoin's price has already rebounded 23% from its August lows, but reclaiming $87,500 by December 31 will be a challenging task. The current price is around $78,565, which is about 11.4% short of the target level. Bitcoin reached an intraday high of $82,283 on September 3, but was rejected twice near $80,500 this month.
To reach $87,500, four specific conditions would need to line up: a soft September 11 CPI report, sustained corporate treasury buying, consistent institutional demand through spot Bitcoin ETFs, and capital rotating back from altcoins into Bitcoin. A softer core inflation reading on September 11 could cut rate-hike odds for the Fed's September meeting and pull Treasury yields lower.
Corporate accumulation has continued even as Bitcoin's price pulled back, with companies like Capital B purchasing large quantities of Bitcoin. This steady source of demand adds to the coin's potential upside. Additionally, a rising dominance share typically coincides with Bitcoin outperforming the rest of the market in dollar terms.
