Bitcoin Fails to Break Above $80,000 for Third Time
Bitcoin's attempt to break above $80,000 failed for the third time this month. The price fell below $79,000 before recovering slightly and moving back above that level. BTC's market value remains near $1.6 trillion.
The asset has struggled to hold gains above $80,000 since late August, with previous attempts falling short after a hawkish speech from Kevin Warsh. Buyers drove the price up to $82,400 on Thursday before another pullback followed Friday's strong U.S. jobs report.
Several altcoins posted strong gains despite Bitcoin's volatility. Chainlink gained about 9% and traded above $13, while TAO rose around 14% to $267. Pi Network's native token stayed above the $0.09 support level and tested nearby resistance at $0.095.
