Bitcoin Finds Rare Long-Term Oversold Signal Amidst Ongoing Price Pressure
Katie Stockton, founder of Fairlead Strategies, believes that Bitcoin may have found its major low. The long-term damage to the cryptocurrency over the past few months is finally starting to run its course.
Stockton pointed out a rare long-term signal where Bitcoin has registered a measurable oversold reading on two of Fairlead's preferred long-term indicators. This combination has historically preceded major turning points rather than brief bounces.
The technical damage to Bitcoin is significant, with the cryptocurrency trading around $63,000 for much of the week, below every major daily moving average. The Fear and Greed Index is also in the 'fear' zone, at a reading of 34, indicating a bearish mood.
Stockton isn't just looking at Bitcoin; she's also extending her 'major low' framework to Ethereum specifically. She believes that smaller tokens tend to bottom and top in step with Bitcoin, making the two largest assets a useful proxy for reading the broader market's health.
