Bitcoin Firms Demand Access to AI Models Amid Rising Attack Threats
Bitcoin companies have called on AI labs to provide open-source security researchers with early access to powerful AI models, arguing that defenders are at a disadvantage due to limited resources.
The letter, organized by the Bitcoin Policy Institute and signed by companies like Coinbase, Block, BitGo, and others, lists five demands for access to these models. The signatories include leading crypto firms such as Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, Bitwise, Foundry, Casa, and Exodus.
The issue of limited access to AI models has become increasingly pressing following recent events, including a critical vulnerability disclosed by BTCPay Server that led to the draining of merchants' Lightning nodes. Another signatory, Foundation, lost its own node in the same attack.
