Bitcoin Flashes Golden Cross Signal as Institutional Capital Floods In
Bitcoin has triggered another 'Golden Cross' technical signal after its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) crossed above its 200-day EMA. This pattern, which is considered bullish, last occurred in November 2025 and has a history of being associated with price gains.
According to Zhitong Finance APP, the current price of Bitcoin is hovering around $78,000 to $80,000, having risen by approximately 25% since mid-August. The influx of institutional capital into the market is also significant, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recording a combined net inflow of $3.8 billion over the past three weeks.
The 'Golden Cross' has historically been interpreted as a sign that recent price momentum has surpassed medium- to long-term trends, indicating a shift from weakness to strength. However, only three out of twelve instances have sustained their momentum for a full year without being broken by a 'Death Cross', which is when the short-term EMA crosses below the long-term EMA.
The combination of the Golden Cross and the death cross in USDT market share, where its 50-day moving average is poised to cross below its 200-day moving average, is considered more compelling bullish evidence. This dual signal suggests that capital is flowing out of stablecoins and into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
