Bitcoin Golden Cross Imminent as Medium-Term Momentum Shifts
Bitcoin is close to forming one of its most recognizable bullish technical signals: the golden cross. This occurs when the shorter-term moving averages start to rise more quickly than the longer-term ones, indicating a change in medium-term momentum.
After rising from its June low of around $58,000, Bitcoin is currently trading at about $79,250, which has altered the moving-average structure significantly. The 200-day moving average is currently near $72,830, while the slower 100-day average and the 50-day moving average are positioned close to each other, both around $70,500 and $70,210 respectively.
A bullish crossover would confirm that Bitcoin's medium-term momentum has changed, but it does not guarantee another rally. The recovery needed to produce the signal has already occurred in this case, making the current price structure more significant than the actual cross.
The golden cross is not a guarantee of success for Bitcoin. It must transform its current consolidation into a new high by breaking above $82,000. This would remove the main local resistance and pave the way for further gains towards $85,000 or beyond.
