Bitcoin Hits 'Extreme Greed' Level Amid Warning Signs
The crypto market's sentiment has shifted dramatically over the past few weeks. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index, which measures investor emotions, hit an extreme level of 'greed' for the first time since December 17, 2024, a span of 616 days.
The index jumped 45 points in just three decades, making it the fastest sentiment shift of the year from one extreme to another. This rapid swing from fear-based readings in February to an all-time high is unusual and raises cautionary flags.
The Bitcoin price has surged by over 22% in the last seven days, outpacing other cryptocurrencies in the market. However, some experts are warning that this rapid rise may be unsustainable due to high funding rates and unrealized profit margins.
CryptoQuant, a leading analytics firm, notes that the rally has flipped its indicators, with the Bull Score jumping to 80 from 30 in a week. The firm's data suggests that the market is entering the early stages of a new bull market, but a weekly close above $83,000 would confirm this trend.
