Bitcoin Holders Warned of Severe Vulnerabilities in Popular Hardware Wallet

A recent warning from a Dogecoin contributor has sparked attention among Bitcoin holders. The alert came after BitBox, a popular hardware wallet for BTC users, released an update to fix two severe vulnerabilities in its firmware.

Mishaboar, a vocal member of the Dogecoin community, noted that while BitBox never added support for Dogecoin, it is widely used among BTC holders. Mishaboar echoed BitBox's advisory, urging individuals using a BitBox device to update immediately to address the two severe vulnerabilities.

The vulnerabilities, discovered and fixed by BitBox during its internal audits, would have allowed an attacker to manipulate users into installing malicious firmware, unlocking their device, and stealing funds. Mishaboar advised that users should ensure their computer is clean before proceeding with the installation, and ideally use a fresh or new computer for the update.
