Bitcoin Holds Firm at 50-Day MA as Bullish Setups Persist Across Indices
Bitcoin has tested its 50-day moving average and held firm in a bullish setup. The cryptocurrency's recent price action formed a bullish hammer/doji, which is typically seen when momentum is oversold at or near the midline (50) of the moving average. This occurred after Bitcoin suffered significant selling pressure that brought it to July lows.
The equal-weighted S&P index broke through new highs in a decisive move, accompanied by a strong 'buy' trigger in the MACD above the bullish zero line. The index also saw a sharp rise in relative performance compared to the weighted S&P. However, the parent S&P 500 showed mixed technicals, with no new MACD 'buy' signal and stochastics below the critical 50 midline.
The Russell 2000 (IWM) spent four days at its 50-day moving average before closing with a small doji on the MA. The index is outperforming the Nasdaq but shows other bearish technicals. The Nasdaq has dropped below 25K support, marked by higher volume distribution and bearish technicals.
Bullish setups are present across various indices, including Bitcoin, the equal-weighted S&P, and the Russell 2000. Despite some losses in semiconductors, Fibonacci retracements indicate that these indices have not yet reached their first support level.
