Bitcoin Holds Ground at $78K Amid August Rally
Bitcoin maintained its position above $78,400 on Tuesday morning during Asian trading hours, showing resilience in an environment where other risk-sensitive assets are experiencing weakness.
The month of August proved to be remarkably bullish for Bitcoin, with a 24% appreciation marking the cryptocurrency's most impressive monthly performance since November 2024.
According to analysts, the recent price action was driven primarily by spot market demand rather than leveraged speculation. This is evident from the fact that open interest in perpetual futures contracts has reached its lowest point since May.
MicroStrategy re-entered the market as an active Bitcoin accumulator last week with a $370 million acquisition, marking the company's first buying activity in roughly two months.
