Bitcoin Holds Ground Below $90K as Holders Face Critical Decision
Bitcoin's price has been stuck below $90,000 as on-chain data shows that unrealized profits and losses are shrinking. This could mean that holders are now facing a critical decision: to accumulate more or capitulate under mounting stress.
An analyst examined an adjusted version of the Net Unrealized Profit/Loss (NUPL) metric, which incorporates realized capitalization from both short-term and long-term holders. The resulting metric, called aNUPL, shows that Bitcoin is approaching ranges where holders have historically either continued accumulating or exited under pressure.
The market has been hanging in balance, with long-term participants absorbing the pressure and keeping holding potentially stabilizing and rotating back into recovery. However, if selling accelerates from stressed cohorts, the decline could deepen into a broader bear phase.
