Bitcoin Holds Steady Above $78,000 as Broader Crypto Market Declines

Bitcoin's price has stabilized at $78,378, up 1% over the past day and week. Despite this, the broader crypto market is experiencing a decline, with the total crypto market cap slipping to $2.76 trillion, down nearly 1%. Bitcoin's resilience is notable as it remains above its short-term floor near $77,000.

The coin has been range-bound below $83,000 for almost two weeks, mirroring a similar period in July and August. Chart watchers argue that breaking through this resistance could lead to a bigger structural move, potentially reaching $160,000. However, this figure is tied to a specific pattern and not considered a forecast.

Support levels remain in focus as the broader uptrend from the July low remains intact as long as Bitcoin holds the $70,500 to $75,180 zone. Cycle-based timing models suggest a weaker stretch ahead, with possible lows forming in October and near year-end before conditions improve heading into next year.

Sentiment remains in Greed territory, despite sideways price action, with the Fear and Greed Index sitting at 69.
