Bitcoin Holds Steady Amid Geopolitical Tensions and Rate-Hike Fears
Bitcoin's price reaction to the recent escalation of violence in the Middle East and a hawkish tone from the Federal Reserve has left many market observers scratching their heads. The cryptocurrency held steady near $78,623 on Monday, down just 0.7% over 24 hours despite fresh US military strikes on Iran sending oil prices surging and knocking equities lower.
This kind of composure in the face of geopolitical shock and a rate-hike scare is exactly why traders and analysts are paying closer attention than usual. Bitcoin's steadiness above $78,000 while both pressures land at once is seen as a signal of underlying demand rather than pure momentum trading.
Ethereum tells a slightly different story, however. The token traded near $2,448 on Monday, down slightly on the day but still heading into month-end with a gain approaching 30%. Despite its price gains, Ethereum funds kept losing cash even as the price climbed, suggesting investors are locking in profits or rotating elsewhere.
