Bitcoin Holds Steady as Traders Reprice Fed Rate Hike Odds
Bitcoin has been holding steady near $79,835.40 in a relatively narrow trading band.
The total crypto market capitalization stayed close to $2.7 trillion for another session, while Zcash outperformed the broader market, rising past $1,200.
Bitcoin's recent price action can be attributed to its reaction to the stronger-than-expected US jobs report in August, which pushed traders to reprice Fed rate hike odds higher.
The move trimmed part of the rally that had briefly lifted Bitcoin above $82,000, with Ethereum and most large-cap altcoins posting modest gains alongside Bitcoin today.
