Bitcoin Holds Steady at $79,500 as $225 Million in Short Positions Are Liquidated
Bitcoin maintained its value above $79,500 on Sunday as $225 million in short positions were liquidated across major cryptocurrency platforms.
This marks a shift in market dynamics, with more short positions being closed than opened, indicating buying pressure that's holding the floor even amidst geopolitical tension between Washington and Tehran.
Bitcoin had climbed to $80,500 late Saturday before reversing, but held its ground at $79,500, which has become a key technical support level for traders.
Ethereum, on the other hand, remained in a tighter range, fluctuating between $2,460 and $2,525, with some analysts predicting it could break above $3,000 if Bitcoin maintains its current consolidation.
