Bitcoin Holds Steady Near $64,000 Amid Regulatory Attention
Bitcoin has been holding steady near $64,000 despite mounting regulatory attention and institutional shifts. The price is currently at $63,982, close to its 20-day average with short-term consolidation and limited directional momentum.
The technical indicators are neutral, with volatility at 3.54% and momentum signals tilting lower but not confirming a strong trend. The expected range next week is between $62,798 and $65,165, with support near $63,378 and resistance at $64,184.
Regulatory headlines and institutional selling have been driving sentiment shifts in the market. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) trimmed its Bitcoin holdings by at least 1,690 BTC valued at $108.6 million, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reversed several weeks of outflows with a net inflow of $854 million last week.
However, momentum faded as the new week began with $144.67 million in net ETF outflows. The U.S. SEC is set to vote on August 14, 2024, on formal digital asset rulemaking, while the Senate postponed voting on the CLARITY Act until September.
