Bitcoin Holds Steady Near $77,000 Amid Market Volatility
Bitcoin has held steady near the $77,000 mark despite soaring government bond yields and equity market volatility triggered by the unwinding of carry trades. The Bank of Japan's plan to raise interest rates to 1.25%, a nearly 30-year high, has also sparked market focus on future hawkish signals.
The cryptocurrency market remained stable with Bitcoin rising to $78,280, while Tech stocks, including NVIDIA, plunged following calls from Anthropic's CEO to slow down AI development. Meanwhile, crude oil prices surged due to the closure of Saudi pipelines.
Prince Filip of Serbia expressed ongoing conversations with countries on adopting Bitcoin, stating 'I don't want to spill the beans on who we're speaking to exactly, but there's some interesting, interesting conversations happening.' The Clarity Act has also gained attention, with Executive Director Conner Brown saying it has 'really come together with a pretty compelling compromise here.'
