Bitcoin Holds Steady Near $78,200 Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Bitcoin is currently trading around $78,200, having stabilized after an August rally sparked by U.S. Treasury bond buybacks.
The asset's price was driven up by the Treasury's announcement to increase long-term bond buybacks on August 19, which also triggered a significant cascade of short-covering in the crypto markets.
However, legislative and regulatory uncertainties remain a major concern for institutional investors, particularly with regards to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which has faced an impasse in the U.S. Senate.
The bill's passage is currently pending a procedural vote scheduled for September 15, and until then, many traditional financial institutions will likely remain cautious about integrating digital assets into their mainstream portfolios.
