Bitcoin Holds Steady Near $79,000 Amid Macro Risks and Heavy Position Liquidations
Bitcoin held steady near $79,000 on Wednesday as macroeconomic risks mounted and nearly $246 million in crypto positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours.
The cryptocurrency's price was up 1.56% to trade at $79,624, with Ethereum up 1.66% at $2,517.
Roughly $246 million in crypto positions were liquidated, with longs taking a bigger hit, said Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange.
The global crypto market capitalisation rose 1.51% to $2.71 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap.
