Bitcoin Hyper Aims to Boost BTC Performance with Layer 2 Network
A new project has emerged in the Bitcoin ecosystem, aiming to improve the performance and usability of BTC. Bitcoin Hyper is a Layer 2 network built on the Solana Virtual Machine using zero-knowledge rollups, with the goal of making BTC more suitable for everyday applications.
The project has reported funding of over $7 million from its presale, which began in May 2025, and has seen live staking with rewards exceeding 152% annual yield. The team behind Bitcoin Hyper frames BTC as a more usable Web3 asset rather than just a passive store of value.
The project's mainnet launch is planned for the third quarter of 2025, which will activate the canonical bridge and allow BTC to move onto the Layer 2 while enabling early decentralized applications (dApps). For later milestones, the team mentions a Uniswap listing plan in the fourth quarter and possible centralized exchange listings.
Risks remain, including the team's anonymity and the absence of a live product. The project's success will depend on execution, testing, market conditions, and whether it can attract real usage and developers beyond its initial presale attention and later listings.
