Bitcoin Knots' Alarmist Claims Spark Debate Over BIP-110 Proposal

A recent disagreement on the Bitcoin network has left the community divided over the BIP-110 proposal. David Schwartz, architect of the XRP Ledger and former Ripple CTO, took issue with Bitcoin Knots' claim that the network was under attack.

The dispute centers around BIP-110, which split from the dominant chain when mandatory signaling began at block 961,632. The branch produced two blocks before stalling, leading to a chain split.

Schwartz criticized Bitcoin Knots for using alarmist language, saying it was intended to mislead people who didn't understand the context. He condemned the claim, stating that regardless of one's views on BIP-110, the nonsense should be rejected.
