Bitcoin Loses Gains Amid US CPI Data, Virtuals Protocol Surges
Crypto market performance has been mixed this week, with Bitcoin (BTC) trading around $63,000 on Thursday after three consecutive days of losses. The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July came in at 3.4%, meeting market expectations and reducing the likelihood of a rate hike.
This news had a mild positive impact on BTC, briefly pushing it above $64,000 before losing ground later in the day and closing with a bearish tone. Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) and OKB have emerged as top performers over the last 24 hours, with VIRTUAL trading near the $0.6000 level and OKB up over 2%.
From a technical perspective, BTC is facing risks of revisiting $60,000, held beneath a dense cap of Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) at $64,523, $66,718, and $73,303. Momentum indicators back this weaker tone, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering around 45 and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) crossing below its signal line.
