Bitcoin Midterm Strategy Sees Strong Post-Vote Gains
Popular analyst CryptoGoos has outlined a simple Bitcoin trading strategy that has tracked and identified the asset's most important cycle bottoms and tops. The strategy looks at the US midterm elections, which have historically had a negative impact on BTC prices. However, in each of the three previous midterm election years - 2014, 2018, and 2022 - Bitcoin rebounded strongly after the vote.
According to CryptoGoos' research, the similarities between these cycles and the current one are hard to ignore. In each of the past two midterm elections, BTC declined by more than 60% in the months leading up to the vote. This year's price is still below its October all-time high despite a recent recovery.
The strategy suggests buying BTC ahead of the midterms and selling it in stages over the next few years. The first sales are recommended for next year, followed by a more significant dump in 2028 and another 25% offload in 2029 after the election. While this doesn't guarantee a price uptick, it's possible that markets can start pricing policy with more confidence once the election is out of the way.
