Bitcoin Millionaire Wallets Surge as Large Holders Return with Confidence
In August, Bitcoin wallets holding more than $1 million in BTC saw a notable surge. According to data from BitInfoCharts, reported by Finbold, there was a 10.4% increase in these millionaire wallets, bringing the total count to 123,482. This represents an additional 11,636 wallets compared to July's 111,846.
This growth aligns with a period of relative price stability for Bitcoin and renewed institutional interest in digital assets. The stability may have encouraged accumulation by both long-term holders and new entrants with significant capital. Analysts also point to the trend of self-custody, where investors move assets from exchanges to private wallets, which can inflate the count of large-balance addresses.
The rise in wallets holding over $10 million suggests that even high-net-worth participants are consolidating their positions. This concentration among a relatively small number of addresses can influence market dynamics and potentially lead to higher volatility if these holders decide to move their assets.
