Bitcoin Miner Hyperscale Data Sells 685 BTC for $43 Million
Hyperscale Data, a publicly listed bitcoin miner, has sold approximately 685 BTC for $43 million to fund its Michigan data center. This move is part of a broader trend among bitcoin miners pivoting towards artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
The sale reduces Hyperscale Data's holdings to about 275 BTC, but the company remains committed to mining Bitcoin. Milton 'Todd' Ault III, Executive Chairman of Hyperscale Data, stated that 'Bitcoin has been an important part of our strategy, and we expect it to remain an important part of our strategy going forward.'
Hyperscale Data's decision to sell part of its holdings is aimed at strengthening its liquidity and providing flexibility in managing debt, equity, and capital structure. The company plans to continue evaluating capital allocation among bitcoin holdings, data center infrastructure, debt obligations, and working capital.
