Bitcoin Miners Get Lifeline as Hashprice Surges 20% Higher
Bitcoin miners are breathing a sigh of relief as hashprice has jumped by a significant 20% in just four days. The surge in revenue comes after a prolonged bear market, which saw BTC plummet from its all-time high of $126,000 in October 2025.
The current daily rate for hashprice stands at $38.29 per petahash per second (PH/s), up from $31.80 on August 18. This means that a top mining machine like the Bitmain Antminer S23 Hydro 3U can pull in an estimated $17.86 in daily profit, assuming electricity costs of $0.10 per kilowatt-hour.
The profitability of other machines is also on the rise, with the Sealminer A4 Ultra Hydro from Bitdeer now producing an estimated $13.75 in daily profit. The improved hashprice has made it more lucrative for miners to operate their SHA-256 application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) machines.
But while hashprice has increased, total revenue is still lagging behind July's figure of $875 million. Miners have collected around $682.69 million so far in August, with the majority coming from block subsidies and fees rather than transaction fees.
