Bitcoin Miners Pour $30B into AI as Revenue Trails
Bitcoin miners are making significant investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC), but early financial results show that the shift is still far from economically justifying the scale of investment.
According to BlocksBridge Consulting's latest Miner Weekly update, miners and AI-adjacent data center operators have committed tens of billions to capital assets, with $30.7 billion spent in their latest 2026 reporting periods - a 42.6% increase from the $21.53 billion spent across all of 2025.
The key question for investors is whether current AI/HPC revenue growth can narrow the gap between upfront spending and cash returns fast enough to justify the pivot.
