Bitcoin Miners Secure Major Capacity Under ERCOT's Batch Zero Program
Core Scientific, Ionic Digital, and Cipher Digital have been added to the list of companies that received Batch Zero classifications from ERCOT. Core Scientific has announced that it has received a total of ~1.33 GW of power under Batch Zero, split between 1,028 MW of base load and 300 MW of studied load.
The company's Denton site has been designated as base load with an additional 74 MW expansion approved outside of the Batch Zero process. Its Hunt County site is also classified as base load and is currently under development. The Pecos sites have been designated as both existing capacity (base load) and expansion capacity (studied load).
Cipher Digital has announced that it received Batch Zero classifications for 3.2 GW, but did not specify the sites or whether the designations were base load, studied load, or a mix of both.
