Bitcoin Miners Unload BTC Amid Consolidation Attempt
Bitcoin miners have resumed selling BTC on exchanges, raising concerns about a potential market downturn. According to data from Lookonchain, MARA deposited 200 BTC and Riot Platforms another 381 BTC on the NYDIG platform, worth approximately $24.5 million.
This behavior is part of a larger trend, as miners had already liquidated a record 32,000 Bitcoins in the first quarter of 2026, leading to a decrease in the network's hash rate.
The sales come at a time when BTC's price is trying to consolidate above $64,000. Poolin, a mining company with facilities in Texas, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is seeking to sell its mining properties for $52 million due to compressed margins and sustained operating costs.
