Bitcoin Nears End of Correction Phase as Eight Capitulation Signals Trigger
Bitcoin has seen eight of its twelve capitulation signals trigger, suggesting that it may be nearing the end of its correction phase. This is according to VanEck's 'Bitcoin Capitulation Check', which has been monitoring these signals over the past three months.
The signals indicate that the market has gone through price capitulation and is now in an accumulation phase. This could gain momentum if more capital starts flowing back into crypto, with Bitfinex identifying this as a key missing piece for Bitcoin's next rally. They note that two of the three conditions for a BTC rally are already in place: lower expected rates and already-loose financial conditions.
However, Bitfinex warns that there is still no capital flowing from equities, technology, and AI markets into crypto, which could prevent a bigger move ahead. SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci disagrees, expecting Bitcoin to climb back above $100,000 after the halving in less than two years.
VanEck's analysis also suggests that this cycle may see a shallower trough compared to previous downturns, with earlier bottoms seeing drawdowns of 94%, 85%, 84%, and 78%. The current spot ETF market and increased institutional ownership are seen as contributing factors to this difference.
