Bitcoin Network Activity Slumps as Death Cross Emerges
Bitcoin's stagnant performance in 2025 has been attributed to declining network fundamentals since Q4 2024. According to crypto analyst Yonsei_dent, a decline in Active Addresses (AA) indicates weakening investor engagement.
The AA metric tracks the number of wallet addresses participating in transactions over a defined period and serves as a key indicator of investor sentiment on the blockchain. The steady decline in active addresses suggests that investors may be losing confidence in Bitcoin's potential for growth.
A 'death cross' has also been observed, marked by the 30-day moving average (30DMA) for active addresses crossing below the 365-day moving average (365DMA). This pattern is a bearish signal in technical analysis and suggests looming bearish momentum and possibly extended downturns in both price and network activity.
