Bitcoin On-Chain Signals Suggest Accumulation Phase May Be Underway
Crypto analyst Crypto Dan has identified similarities between current Bitcoin on-chain metrics and those seen at previous cycle bottoms. One key indicator is the distribution of coins by holding time, which tracks long-term versus short-term holders.
According to Crypto Dan's analysis, the share of Bitcoin's realized market capitalization held for between one week and one month has dropped to roughly 5%. This contraction in recently transacted coins often accompanies the tail end of bear markets, when speculative interest wanes and only committed holders remain active.
The current price movement is also characteristic of an accumulation phase, with Bitcoin's price having stabilized following a recent correction. While Crypto Dan cautions that it's too early to confirm a definitive bottom, this combination of low short-term holder participation and price stabilization has historically preceded major upward moves.
